PETER HÜBNER – THE BENEFITS AND HARM OF MUSIC IN SOCIETY - page 2

That is why the kind of music, which in its structure opposes the natural harmony laws of life, can be looked upon as the main cause of growing, self-destructive drug consumption – those drugs a person logically goes for if he has been urged in his thinking and feeling towards general destruction, and therefore also self-destruction by means of unnaturally structured music.

The structural power of music on human thinking and feeling is, compared to all added words that are sung or spoken or even compared to pictures, so strong that when assessing the holistic effect on the listener, we can neglect the contents of the added words and/or pictures: the utmost part of the actual exertion of influence on the listener’s thinking and feeling originates from the structure of music, which he is unable to resist, and he has to survive with its effect on his thinking, feeling and actions.

Just like a rifle bullet, coming from a marksman, hits the victim and affects him or her in a physical structural way – without the marksman’s and/or the weapon manufacturer’s or victim’s opinions influencing the wounds in any way –, music that does not orientate itself towards the natural order of the harmony laws of music, has the same objectively destructive effect on our thinking and feeling, as in the same way equally destructive on the listener’s biology – and that is independent of the ethical opinion the composer, musician, presenter or listener may publicly represent and/or feign.

A musician and/or presenter who verbally declares himself against environmental destruction with his songs and/or his programme, but structurally ignores and breaks the natural order of the harmony laws of music, is similar to a person, who verbally advises his neighbour to stop drinking wine, whilst at the same time discreetly injecting him with a strong dose of cocaine, without enlightening him about the contents of the injection.

Music that is not orientated towards the natural order of the harmony laws of music is really inscribing in the listener’s consciousness, thinking, feeling and organism the programme for blind destruction ending in self-destruction, by means of various drugs or other kinds of suicide.

The different kinds of destructive wills, finally leading to addiction – such as drug addiction, alcoholism, cigarette addiction or addiction to prescribed drugs – are only the various expressions of that one addiction of self-destruction, whose programme is inscribed in the listener’s consciousness, thinking, feeling and organism by the kind of music, which is not orientated towards the natural order of the harmony laws of nature.

The ignorance of the present musical experts, or perhaps even their hushed up knowledge of these facts, because of avarice or craving for recognition, do not alter the facts, and should stir the conscience of those responsible in our society to draw the necessary consequences with all haste.

How harmless the effect of a cigarette seems according to the present-day level of knowledge in contrast to the effect of music, which does not orientate itself towards the natural order of the harmony laws of music.
The cigarette might at best be harmful to our physiological health; music that is made without regard to the natural order of the harmony laws of music, which is therefore unnaturally structured, trains a person into becoming a fully automatic fighting machine against natural evolution.

As our radio and television organisations are also to a great extent actively participating in the mentioned spreading of an addiction to destroy, by employing unnaturally structured music, those responsible: the director-generals, the members of the radio councils and administrative councils were informed of these facts, and called to bear the responsibility.

Just as these institutions verbally throw their weight behind the removal of ecological crises in the various areas, they should make themselves familiar with their foundations, and participate actively in their genuine removal.

It seems to be so fashionable among today’s media to oppose power stations and their nuclear power stations or chemical plants or dictatorships, violence in the streets, xenophobia and drug addiction, but they should be clear about the fact that to a large extent, the thinking of destruction – from self-destruction and destruction of social peace to environmental destruction – is established through themselves in the thinking of the individual citizen.

A continuation of this long-established path in the same way must finally – in contrast to the Third Reich – establish dictatorial thinking and a blind destructive frenzy in the mind of the individual citizen – a process, citizens cannot resist, and for which they therefore cannot be blamed.

Whilst in the Third Reich a relative minority were governing in their dictatorial thinking and their blind destructive frenzy (“Do you want total war?!”), present-day media – meanwhile aware of the facts – educate each single citizen, above all: the children and young people, without them generally realising or able to resist, in general destruction – ranging from self-destruction to destruction of social peace in their parental home, at school and in the streets to ecological destruction.

This is not at all about “musical quality” in the traditional sense or about musical “aesthetics” or about musical styles: with any kind of music – ranging from rock and pop music over supposed folk music and the so-called classical music to church music, composers and interpreters can respect or contravene the natural order of the musical harmony laws.

As far as benefits and harm of music in society is concerned, only naturalness in the structure of music is directly and exclusively addressed – beyond all tastes in music or conventional “music standards”.

According to present scientific knowledge, today’s music is classified as being much more dangerous as, for instance, cocaine.
As long as those responsible do not stop the socio-political destructive misuse of music, the problems will continue to spiral out of control.

New times bring new discoveries. A lot is being done in all kinds of directions to solve problems, but nobody has apparently thought of the present-day music scene as the strongest and most active cause of all socio-political problems – because this would possibly require a new kind of sound musicological knowledge, adequate for the problems of our time.

Thus, the destructive powers of music quite often act, as a matter of course, in the centre of cultural life, and nobody has so far been the slightest bit aware of the effect, undermining and devastating natural human dignity, we are here dealing with on a socio-political level.

The musicians of the new generation must learn to structure their work according to the harmony laws of nature – the representatives of rock and pop music, as well as the representatives of so-called folk music, light music or the modern avant-garde, and even church music.

None of them need leave their music genre for this – each has its very own value – but the musicians should make very serious efforts in the interest of social and ecological harmony, to live in harmony with nature in their public work.

And the media – above all those under so-called public law –, should be more critical and respect human dignity, instead of continuing to actively participate in the destruction of our society.
